WHAT IS HYDROSOL? Hydrosol sometimes referred to as floral water, is the distillate created from the steam distillation of herbs, flowers, and plants that contain water soluble active components. Hydrosol’s have been enjoyed by humans for over 2000 years with records dating back to ancient Egypt.
HOW IS HYDROSOL MADE: We make all of our hydrosol in handmade copper stills using a combination of hydrodistillation and steam distillation. Only the finest hand picked botanicals make it to the distillation process to ensure a high quality extraction.
HOW TO STORE HYDROSOL: It’s recommended to keep your hydrosols out of direct sunlight and extreme heats. Keeping hydrosols in the fridge can extend the life of the product.
HOW TO USE HYDROSOL: Hydrosol can be used in place of the water component in any topical formulation which we utilize throughout a lot of our Earth and Soul remedies.
Hydrosols are simple and effective. They can be cherished as a part of your facial care routine and hair routines to add natural organic scents while also having the benefits of the plants themselves. Hydrosols are excellent if you experience hard water where you live, as the distilled hydrosol helps to clean calcium and other hard minerals that often dry out the skin.
When stored in the fridge they make a wonderful after sun spray and will help you cool down from a hot day while enjoying their refreshing aromatic essence.
In aromatherapy work, hydrosols are also welcome as they are made purely with herbs and plants. They are 100% safe to use in diffusers and will also provide different scent notes when combined with the essential oil counterpart. We make 1 litre growler’s of pure hydrosol that can be added to your bath or utilized in any way that you see fit.
We also offer 8oz sprays that make top quality natural perfumes, toners or room mists. If a gloomy day is present, I reach for our lavender hydrosol to uplift the energy and help hit the rest button.
